We measure how the site is used with OpenPanel, an open-source analytics tool we run ourselves on our own servers. It is not a third-party service and your visit is never sent to another company.
OpenPanel does not set cookies. It does not store an identifier in your browser. It uses a single sessionStorage entry, which your browser discards the moment you close the tab. Visits are counted using a rotating value derived from your request, which cannot be used to follow you across sites or link your visits over time.
That is the whole picture for the marketing site.
What we do not use:
The Pin Drop app at web.pindrop.it is a separate matter. Signing in sets cookies that keep you logged in and keep your session secure. These are strictly necessary: the app cannot work without them, so they are not optional and no consent is required for them. They are set by us, not by anyone else.
Our Privacy Policy covers what we do with the account data you give us.
If you have used Pin Drop before, your browser may still hold cookies from tools we no longer use. They are inactive, nothing on our site reads them and they will expire on their own. Clearing site data for pindrop.it removes them immediately.
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in to the app. It will not affect browsing the marketing site.
