How do I import from Mapstr?

Fed up with being limited to 300 pins and charged to use Mapstr? Our free plan has no limits to the number of pins you can drop or tags you can use to organise your data. We don't serve you ads, we don't sell your data, we just let you map away, just the way it should be. The best bit? It won't cost you anything.

Bring your Mapstr data to Pin Drop

  1. Open the Mapstr app and navigate to 'settings'
  2. Tap on 'export data'
  3. Your data export will be sent to your registered email address for your account
  4. Download the 'mapstr.geojson' file from the email

On the Pin Drop app, go to 'data' and then select 'import' in the 'more' tab and upload your GeoJSON file to add it to your pin collection. Sadly the export doesn't include images, so that can't be included in your import to Pin Drop.

Important: Don't import the CSV

Make sure you upload the GeoJSON file NOT the CSV. The CSV file will not have the correct (full) address, so won't import the data.

As things can sometimes change, if you find your import doesn't work, just let us know and we'll help you import your Mapstr data.
