Import your places

Pick the guide that matches where your places live now. Whichever route you take, everything comes in as pins that keep their name and location, ready to tag and organise, and on the free plan there is no limit on how many you can hold. Photos from other apps are not included in an import.

From Mapstr

Export your places from Mapstr as a GeoJSON file. In Mapstr open Settings, tap Export data, and the file is emailed to you. Download the mapstr.geojson file, then in Pin Drop open the Data section and choose Import to upload it. Use the GeoJSON rather than the CSV, and note that photos do not carry across.

From Google My Maps

You have two options. The quickest is to share a single map with a view link and paste it into Pin Drop. Alternatively export everything through Google Takeout and upload the file. Both land in the same Data, Import place and bring your places in as pins.

From a spreadsheet

Keeping your places in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets? Save the sheet as a CSV, then upload it in Pin Drop's Data section on the web app. Each row becomes a pin.
