Teleporting
Teleport lets you instantly set a different working location on the map, without physically being there. It is designed for planning, prospecting and working ahead of travel. Teleport is currently only available on the Pin Drop website.
What is Teleport?
Teleport allows you to move the map to any location in the world and treat it as your point of reference.
Once Teleport is active, Pin Drop behaves as if you are in that location. Pins are ordered by distance from the teleported location, search results update accordingly and routes and suggestions are recalculated based on where you have teleported to.
This makes it easy to plan work in advance, explore new territories and organise activity away from your current location.
When should I use Teleport?
Teleport is useful whenever you are working remotely from a place you are not physically in, for example:
- Planning a future trip or site visit
- Prospecting customers in a new city or country
- Preparing routes, visits or tasks ahead of travel
- Reviewing territories managed by other team members
- Exploring unfamiliar areas without losing your current setup
How Teleport works
When you teleport:
- The map recentres on the chosen location
- Pins are sorted by distance from that location
- Search results reflect what is nearby
- Routes and directions are recalculated
- Suggestions and context update to match the area
Your real location does not change and Teleport can be turned off at any time.
How to use Teleport
- Open Pin Drop on the website
- Select Teleport from the left-hand navigation
- Search for a city, address or place
- Choose a recent or saved location if available
- Confirm to teleport
Once set, the map and pins will update immediately. You'll also notice it will change the distance (from you) for all of your pins to be to the teleport location. It will also change search results and suggestions.
Switching and resetting locations
- You can teleport as often as you like
- Recent teleport locations are saved for quick access
- To return to your real location, reset Teleport or choose My current location
What Teleport does not do
Teleport does not share a fake location with others and does not change GPS data on your device. It only changes how Pin Drop orders and displays information for you.
Availability
Teleport is currently available on the Pin Drop website. It's not yet supported on themobile apps.

- Use Teleport before a trip to pre-build routes and pin shortlists
- Combine Teleport with filters and tags to explore dense territories
- Use it for desk-based prospecting without switching tools or views
