Pin Drop and Jobber

Jobber is one of the most established names in field service management, built for small home service teams who live and die by clean quotes, tight schedules and invoices that get paid on time. It has grown from a scheduling tool into a fuller business platform across Core, Connect, Grow and Plus plans. The $29 a month you see on Core is an annual-billing rate, discounted to $21 for the first twelve months, while monthly billing starts at $49. Each extra user adds $29 a month on top, so a five-person Core team pays a multiple of that headline figure. Plus does not start at one user either, it starts at five. At fifteen users Plus is $699 billed monthly or $529 billed annually. Pricing changes regularly, so check Jobber's site for current figures.

Its strength shows day to day. Professional quotes with online signature approval, a client hub where customers can approve work and pay invoices, automated reminders and two-way texting, plus a QuickBooks Online and Xero sync that keeps the books straight without double entry. For a plumber, electrician or landscaper running one van or a small crew, that combination of quoting, scheduling and getting paid is hard to beat.

Jobber also covers routing and GPS tracking, mostly through its FleetSharp integration and built-in waypoint tracking, so a dispatcher can see roughly where the team is and reshuffle a route when a job overruns.

What it does not do is treat a customer's address or a job site as a persistent object with its own life beyond the schedule. A job in Jobber lives inside a client record and a calendar slot; once it is invoiced, the geography around it mostly drops from view. There is no way to draw a named territory on a map, assign an owner to it and see coverage or overlap across the whole patch a business serves.

That is the gap the map fills. Every place a team touches is a pin holding its own visit history, notes, photos and pipeline stage, so a site quoted eighteen months ago is still findable with its context intact, not buried inside a closed job record. Territories are drawn by hand with named owners, so a manager can see coverage and overlap at a glance instead of inferring it from a list of addresses.

Automatic check-in and check-out capture notes and media against the pin the moment a crew arrives and leaves. Multi-stop routes are traffic-aware and hand straight off to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, and offline capture on iOS and Android comes on every plan, useful for the low-signal ground a lot of field work happens on.

None of this replaces what Jobber does well. Pin Drop does not quote, invoice or take payment, and for a business whose main problem is getting paid faster, Jobber's billing and CRM depth is the right tool. For a business managing many sites, several crews across a wider patch, or work that needs to be seen and shared on a map rather than a list, the two sit well side by side: Jobber runs the transaction, the map runs the ground it happens on.
